DreamHon Group D: Streaks continuing, Streaks snapping and Draconis raging

Posted by Sören "Fantasy44" V. 2 years, 7 weeks ago
One of the best groups of this stage of the DreamHon Summer Championship was in action again. TmRy and iLight had to go against each other, which guaranteed the end of one undefeated streak. CM had to keep their streak alive against the reigning DreamHon champion fnatic, while the winless teams QsQ 1 and Grabblords were battleing for that very first victory.

Missing in the above text is the new Trademark eSports team, which looked strong last week in their win against fnatic and were looking to make it two in a row. Unfortunately the team around veteran players like Limmp, Mynuts and fajN` couldn't demonstrate their skill and team play today, because easy breezey didn't show up. The 2-0 victory through forfeit boosts tdM's record to a solid 2-1 in games, with only one lost to CM.

That ClanMilk team flat out dominated fnatic on two maps, taking home the third straight victory. With two of the top teams, tdM and fnatic already defeated, the door for them to advance is wide open. Next week will be important against TmRy, but after that they only face teams that are more or less in the lower portion of the standings.

One of those teams, QsQ 1, actually got their first victory in this tournament after falling short twice in the last couple of weeks. In the match against Grabblords the fourth team of the QsQ project prevailed with an impressive 2-0 victory. As a result they get a huge boost in the standings, getting on the same level as fnatic, leaving easy breezey and Grabblords behind.

In the highlight match of the two undefeated teams, TmRy just tore through their opponents from iLight, getting that perfect 3-0 start with a flawless map score as well. This accomplishment puts them on the same level as coL from Group B, who have that flawless record themselves. The question now is which streak will snap first, with coL having BoCe next and TmRy getting into the fight with fellow undefeated team ClanMilk next.

Group C played out two postponed matches of their own with the QsQ project being involved three times. QsQ 112 was able to stop the downward spiral for now as they took home their first victory against QsQ 613, who fall to a 1-1 game score on their own. QsQ 613 has another postponed match still open, as they face off with the Malaysian team Orange eSports on August 9th 21 CET.

To end the successful day for QsQ, the final team, QsQ 357, could secure a victory of their own. In the Week 3 match against winless team unZ, Malle and his squad were able to get back on track. After the opening victory against the Nineties, they suffered defeat against Pikachu, so the victory gives them a little bit of momentum for their quest of getting the coveted top two spot.
