DreamHon Group B: Rule violation overshadowing the Group B results

Yesterday, only two of four planned matches actually took place. Today, Group B topped that sad record by having only one match happening as scheduled. The favorites like coL, FIT, iMpunity and Dynasty all postponed their matches, while TiG received a forfeit victory over SOSH. BoCe and saishii were left to entertain the HoN fans.

It is a tough time for the groups to keep track of all those postponed matches and what they actually mean for the group. In Group B almost all matches fell flat today, with only saishii and BoCe facing each other on the battlefield.

Those two teams actually delivered a set of very entertaining matches, providing the fans with unconventional heroes like Rampage, Engineer, Gauntlet, Doctor Repulsor and uncommon item choices like a Genjuro. In the end, saishii was able to get the first victory in this tournament, after they came close against iMpunity last week.

Speaking of last week, there SOSH actually avoided the forfeit and they played their match against the odds-on-favorite compLexity Gaming. This week they didn't play their match against the new It's Gosu, giving away a 2:0 default victory to the team around iNsania.

The rest of the matches will happen in the following days. Dynasty and compLexity will square off tomorrow at 19 CET, determining if Dynasty can keep the top in reach or if coL will keep their flawless record alive. The other match, FIT against iMpunity, will happen this Tuesday, August 7 at 21 CET. That match has huge implications as well, as both teams are still undefeated and a victory there would be a huge step towards the playoffs.

Another unfortunate developement occured in Group A. Yesterday, Pikachu won against Nineties, using a ringer by the name of NicePricee. Today, investigation showed that this player was actually Nir` playing on the account of NicePricee. That is a direct violation of the tournament rules, so the admins made the decision to strip Pikachu of yesterdays win, getting bumped to a 2:1 record overall. The Nineties receive a 2:0 victory for that game yesterday, putting them at a 2:1 record as well.

Nir`was supposed to be on the roster of Pikachu from the beginning, but due to some issues he wasn't. Now he will be added to the official roster, but has to serve a two-game-ban for his rule violation. He is allowed to be with the successful Pikachu team for the two final weeks of the tournament, were he could be a deciding factor of getting his team into the playoffs.
