As the groups were drawn this particular one seemed to be the weakest of them all. With only a little starpower with the presence of Tt eSports was in place, the rest of the spots were either fairly unknown teams from Europe or known teams out of SEA or the CIS region that have been a mystery for the western scene. Still the kickoff of the group featured exciting matches and big plays.
The main attraction of the opening games of Group C was the "Battle of the Russians". Team GA squared off with their nemesis Cats Gaming, who met each other prior to the DreamHon festivities in the Finals of the CIS qualifier. Those matches actually went to GA, resulting in an elimination for Cats and a journey to Sweden for GA. The rematch was an exciting back-and-forth series, that saw Cats getting the late revanche for the qualifier loss.
The rest of the games were fairly clear measuring by the awesome performance that the two Russians gave. MuFC was able to defeat Call it Karma and FackyouKurdi defeated QoP with 2:0 on their own. Only the result of Tt eSports against Vitriolic caught most people off guard. The Australians actually lost their opening match to the International roster and have to prove themselves in the next week against the strong SEA team MuFC.
