Well the balancing isn't the total issue, its the nostalgia effect, how many of you turn on a game like goldeneye on the N64 or FF7 on playstation 1 for 15-30 mins to relive part of your childhood? Some hon players want to play games with just the original heroes, without the same ra/monarch and nomad every game picks, so we decided to accomodate that.

As for the prizes, NationVoice were kind enough to provide a no-name site who has hosted 1 tournament before a prize for the winnin and runner up teams, since a lot of people play this for nothing, why not end up with a little something you can say you won? Also S2 have donated a nice amount of Goblin Coins which already add some monetary value and allow some of the players to get some alts, or early access for a hero or 2.

If you are willing to provide me with a better prize to host the tournament with, feel free to cash up or shut up. This costs money, and since i don't make any profit from hosting the site or tournament, i rely on outside sources to help start up. Without support, we will get nowhere.

First off: Good on you for shutting me down!

I don't personally play games for nostalgia, nor did i play HoN much in the beta days (prefered dota, made the switch later). Ra and Nomad are not really seen much in competitive games atm, but it would be refreshing to see a break from the current picks just for the heck of it.

Of course you need support in starting something, however most ventures invest in an idea, meaning taking some risks. I do appreciate that you do something for the community, with loads of creativity too, but if you compare to most community SC2 events for example they do invest something with hopes of getting a good return from ad revenue off their site for example.

And as this is the internet, i'm free to state whatever opinion i have without "cashing up", no matter how lame, derogatory or hurtful it may be.

All great arguments! Though, either way, there's going to be some great games - cash or no cash.

@ #1 - There's no place in any of my posts for that sort of attitude. Take this as your first and last warning.
