Statement by bkid:

I expect that it is going to be another great event just like all the other times. It is going to be an amazing experience. Think we will take first or second at the event, but the goal is to win the whole thing, of course.

I am especially looking forward to play som the the Asian teams since we didn't get to go to Thailand for the GSL.

In the end any team that is attending can win the event, at least that is what I believe.

Statement by Peterpandam:

I think coL.HoN will suprise a lot of people this summer. We're not exactly underdogs but we're also not favorites. Although teams will prep for us I think every game we play will either be one-sided in our favor or incredibly close.

I think the top 3 teams will dominate the competition (sG / ex-tdM / coL) as per usual and the rest of the marketing teams will compete amongst each other for 4th place. ?

Statement by Riser_:

This will be my first time attending DHS or DHW and traveling out of the country, so it's a pretty big deal to me. I think our goal is to win but realistically placing top 3 is a solid finish for us. I think the team I am most looking forward to playing is ex-TDM to decide who truly deserves the number two spot in the competitive scene. Barring some craziness from teams not in NA/EU I expect to see a repeat of ex-tdM vs sG or coL vs sG. ?

Statement by Tralfamadore:

Dreamhack means a lot to me because in a way it validates all my gaming leading up to the event and shows that I've earned what I've worked toward for so long.   This will be my 3rd time competing at Dreamhack.  Aside from the event itself, it's so much fun just being able to hang out with your teammates in a setting where everyone else is doing the same thing as you.

Obviously, our goal is to win the tournament.  This is my 3rd time competing and it's with a team I finally feel comfortable playing with, and I think that plays a huge role in a team's success.  Motivation has been an issue sometimes so our 4-day bootcamp before the tournament and just attention to scrimming daily I think will remedy that problem.

I'm not really looking forward to playing one team more than the other.  Barring a fair format, if you're the best team you're going to have to be ready to beat everyone.   I think many teams are preparing a lot to beat Stay Green which is fine, but there's actually going to be a lot of great teams at this event, and it's very important to play your best no matter who you're playing against.  Respecting your opponent is key to keeping up your focus and discipline.

I think many would expect Stay Green to make it to the Grand Finals because of their success in the last couple of months, so it would be a huge upset if they did not make it there.   As for the other team, I think compLexity and Fittske's Team have the best chances.

Statement by MoonMeander:

Dreamhack means a lot to me, its being able to travel halfway across the world to represent your country and organization. Its every gamer's dream to attend Dreamhack, and every gamer's WET dream to attend it as a PRO-Gamer!

I think we'll do well as our team is looking better than ever, to beat sG is our goal in DHS but ex-Trademark eSports is also in our way and we haven't forgotten about them!

I look forward to playing against the SEA teams the most namely Impunity and s2y. Impunity because they have never made it to a Dreamhack and it's a first time the Singaporean team will be there. Always looking forward to play against players from my homeland! As for s2y I haven't played them before but I've heard alot about them, excited to see what they bring to the battlefield!

I think we'll see the top 3 giants in the finals again, its going to be sG,ex-tdm,coL for sure its just a matter of how the tournament format is going to be like. ?

Team Breakdown

It has been an up-and-down with the team of compLexity Gaming in the last couple of month. First they were coming into the scene as the absolutely dominating squad prior to the big DreamHack Winter 2012 event. They marched through the qualifier tournaments, only dropping a couple of maps in the process. Just one squad called Trademark eSports could even come close to the dominators of the scene, but then the team crumbled on the big stage - DreamHack Winter 2012. On the main stage, in the DreamArena, tdM was a couple of step ahead of them and secured themselves the title of being HoN World Champion.

coL lurked around on top of the HoN scene for quite some time after that, but couldn't close the deal in tournaments anymore. Several runner-up positions in HoN Tour Diamond Division were the consequence, followed by a deep struggle midway through the season. The team looked out of sync, lost a key player in Chessie, but never gave up on their set path. Riser_ came in, the "work ethic" returned and the seriousness on their quest to be #1 was once again there. After the SoundBlaster Heroes League the dry-spell was broken, another title came in, but it was followed with deep disappointment after the squad failed to punch a ticket to Garena Star League 2013.

Still there was no quit in most of the members, they stuck around with each other, worked on their problems and emerged back in the most recent future. Tralfamadore replaced Haxxeren, the team once again is back to a pure North American roster, the confidence in interviews is back and the "character" of individual members is shining through again and close personal friendships are boosting the spirit inside the squad.

A DreamHack Championship would bring the story full circle - does coL have enough to take out sG, xtdM and the international top teams?

Special thanks to the squad of compLexity Gaming for their cooperation and their quick response time with the statements and the additional information. Special thanks also to Kyle Bautista for his help on the communication end and for providing the pictures, as well as Chris Luong for his quick response.
