PiIIows with Lions Fittske & Mynuts!

Sup guys! First off as usual we just want to give a HUGE thanks for joining me in our interview, but for the readers everywhere in the whole wide world who don’t know you (a crime itself!) can you introduce yourselves a little bit? Fittske: Herrow! My name is Love Brändström currently living in Stockholm sweden. I am 19 years old turning 20 this year (F*CK YEAH) and I am currently between jobs so to speak ;). I have been playing hon for about 1½ years but didn’t start playing "for real" since this January. I’m the support player in Lions-eSports and recognized by my fierce myrmidon! MyNuts: My name is Johan Andersson, I'm 21 years old and live in Uppsala, Sweden. I'm a full time student at Uppsala University where I study to get my masters in computer and information technology. I've played HoN since early beta but never competitively up until about a month ago, when we started playing tournaments as ADON. 3c35c71f8ac70e8f3a7f17bd4768a391bf5c28650a1a2529be0efb546b.jpg

Fittske: Before I played HoN I played some DotA on semi high level, played in some in-house leagues but didn’t really get anywhere with that
How did you guys begin in Heroes of Newerth? Was it your 1st competitive game? Sweden being a country famous for games did you guys ever play counter-strike 1.6 or team fortress? Fittske: I started playing with my irls (in real life... for those that didn’t know!) friends and we sucked hard, playing in the 1600 bracket as we did we didn’t know much about the game. Before I played HoN I played some DotA on semi high level, played in some in-house leagues but didn’t really get anywhere with that. MyNuts: When I started playing HoN I had very little experience of the MobA genre and I just played for fun with my irls. Like most gamers I've played a lot of WoW, that's probably where I picked up competitiveness in gaming to begin with. (Sandnaga/Lorianne Kazzak - EU). I've also played a lot of Starcraft 2, but never at the highest level. The general opinion so far of Dota2 seems to be that Heroes of Newerth will definitely survive after the initial months, what do you guys think and is there a chance that Heroes of Newerth could grow into something as big as Starcraft2? MyNuts: I try not to speculate, it doesn't really matter to me which of the games will be the biggest. Fittske: Im not sure about HoN getting as big as sc2 but I have confidence that HoN will survive the DotA2 realise for sure. I believe that HoN, DotA2 and LoL will survive all three of them and build up separate communities and grow apart, but I’m staying with HoN anyway :) Obviously you guys being Swedish, you must have seen your fair share of big LAN’s over the years, do you feel like Heroes of Newerth is a game that is best played on LAN or ONLINE such as how counter-strike 1.6 is widely regarded as a better game to be played on LAN? MyNuts: I've actually never attended a LAN although I’m looking forward to DH winter though so it’s kinda hard for me to answer that question ^^ Fittske: I think that the current meta game with pushing strats and so on works perfectly with LAN tournaments. Games are usually around 30 min long and filled with big plays that attract the fans. In my opinion FPS games is the best LAN tournament genre but strategy games such as HoN and DotA2 has its place on LANs as well! Haha who would’ve thought! A Swede that’s never been to LAN! But anyways where did such amusing aliases like ‘Mynuts’ and ‘Fittske’ come from? Fittske: Fittske was a word that we used alot on a IT-café called PlayZ that I used to visit a lot. Fittske is a sort of curse, like "damn" and I found it fitting me since I said it in every other sentence. Mynuts: I don't remember actually, it's something I've been using forever, the first time being my Barbarian in Diablo II. a9a1dc63edc2256b210a0d8b0d7c6534be97ae169202a0be896dfba829.jpg
we started playing together under the tag ADON. After our very first tournament game, against MSI, we were contacted by Lions. Fittske: Online-Kingdom is a Top5 team so every match vs them is a challenge, we came off with a bad start in the first match of the bo3 and we lost our momentum from the previous round of the qualifier. In the second match we picked up Monkey King and surprised them and MK was able to get really fat and win us the game. In the third match we were not sure what to play and we went for the 1-2-2 line-up (as legion) with the MK again, but this time they were able to counter it and pick up the win. We are still a new team and all matches we play are important to make the sponsors happy and also our fans, so we were disappointed that we lost for the second time in the semi-finals in the MSI BEAT IT tournament. MyNuts: Two attempts and two semi-finals loses, we should probably be satisfied with that. But it's always annoying to fall on the finish line. Just like in the last semis we end up choking and not playing the way we usually do, which is the downside of being a new team. We just have to get our **** together and win the next one. 4b4b9e987daa74280fb3177dcc6dbde25240cda411145e09ba2a2f2f62.jpg

For those that do know the e-sports scene fairly well, Lion’s eSportsKlubb(?) is an extremely well known organisation - how did you guys manage to snag up such a good sponsor, would you be able to spill any of the things they might have promised, and why the hell is Klubb spelled like that? MyNuts: It's a Norwegian organization: P Well, as stated earlier (?) we started playing together under the tag ADON. After our very first tournament game, against MSI, we were contacted by Lions. I guess they saw potential in us when no one else did. But I do think that WE GET IMBA KEYBOARD FROM QPAD as well as other nice gear! Fittske: It’s a Norwegian organisation so I think that’s reason, but we changed the in game name to "Lions eSports" :) Fittske: I think it's awesome that something as big as NASL picks up this growing game into their business. Hopefully other events such as ESWC, WCG and so on picks it up as well. Like I said before I see a lot of potential in this game and I hope that it keeps going like this! PiIIows: Any opinion from MyNuts? MyNuts: nah, not really :D what he said +1. <img data-cke-saved-src="https://static.gosugamers.net/ba/00/d6/5c49adc3e5de132bd0b60c8580fa1d3a8953d75e27e698a5880dd16dcf.jpg" src="https://static.gosugamers.net/ba/00/d6/5c49adc3e5de132bd0b60c8580fa1d3a8953d75e27e698a5880dd16dcf.jpg" style="HEIGHT=" 200"="" width="300">

Are Lion’s going to be participating in any other tournaments? I have noticed that there was a Lion’s cup with many well known teams participating; From the brackets it looks like you will be up against WHP5, how are you guys planning for that game and how do you feel about them as a team? MyNuts: MSI BeatIT qualifiers, obviously, Twitch.tv challenge Round robin and Lion's cup are the ones we're focusing on at the moment Fittske: WHP5 is an awesome team with a really solid line up so they are a team to fear. As for the match up vs them tomorrow we feel confident, we have some aces up our sleeves so to speak! ;) e0b8f78588021b6d13ef801c527d8ac9b9425878252d3cb0916442f53c.jpg

As a new team that just exploded into the scene (...quite literally)! Heroes of Newerth has always been a scene where the top teams mainly switch players around and we rarely see new upcoming players and teams, do you have any advice for new players looking to break into the competitive scene? MyNuts: It's not difficult to become a really good player individually, if you put your mind to it. What's hard is to find players that you enjoy playing with, so if you find someone hang on tight. Fittske: It's not difficult to become a really good player individually, if you put your mind to it. What's hard is to find players that you enjoy playing with, so if you find someone hang on tight. What are you guys favourite heroes to play and why? MyNuts: Myrmidon, It’s a fish, it can’t die and again it’s a fish. Fittske: I love Balphagore, because I've never lost a competitive game with him.
MyNuts:Myrmidon, It’s a fish, it can’t die and again it’s a fish.
Who is the mastermind in the team that makes the in-game calls, or do you do it as a team and is there a designated feeder in the team? MyNuts: We haven't really decided yet, we're trying out different approaches at the moment, but if we're gonna blame someone for something, it's always Jonassomfan, If he takes a tower it’s my accomplishment, if I die, it’s his fault! With HonCast recently releasing their top 10 teams, we see that Lion’s come 6th - a position that rarely any team start out with, how do you guys feel about this and do you guys personally agree with that top 10 list? Mynuts: I'm glad we're that underrated, I like being the underdog. Fittske: Since we are new to the scene it feels good that we have the communities support, I’m not sure if it’s justified but still, it feels good and in 2 weeks I will hopefully see us as #4 in the next top 10 when we do good in the Lions cup and qualify to DreamHack, and doing good in other tournaments and showing the true skills of the Swedish Vikings AKA Lions eSports. Who do you see as your biggest threat or threats in that top 10? Mynuts: sGty - They're a great team, in my eyes probably the best right now. Even though we have a winning record against them in tournaments (MAD SWINDLE?), I think they're the ones we'll have the hardest time against. Fittske: The ones that are ahead of us, whp5, coL, OK, sGty and MSI. But still all teams in the top10 are really good and not to underestimate. With rumours of a Nations cup being organised, just out of interest if Mynuts was team captain for America and Fittske was team captain for Germany who would be your line-up of players? Fittske: H4nn1, Kebap, mag1x, Levent, Black... because they’re the only 5 German players I know. Mynuts: sn3yking, se'busca , swindlemelonzz, Korok, Tarano because their vent would be so cuddy and nice. Any America vs Europe vs Asia comments? Mynuts: USA! USA! USA! Fittske: Rock, Paper, Scissors, d22c7e302c239e239ab617938eb280dea6574b09160725daeb4aa549ed.jpg
