DreamHack Summer 2005 Finals in StarCraft features iG.Mireille and Liquid.Daaman - both experienced LANers - and will be played at DreamHack Saturday the 18th. ~960€ goes straight to the winner!
DreamHack, being the first out of the three major Swedish LANs using "hack" in the name (others are OptiHack and RixHack), celebrated its 10th year anniversary by increasing the prize money for all the games. StarCraft's was raised to a total of 15,000 SEK which is the same amount that RixHack offered. However, RixHack required the players to have a company or organization in their backs being able to send an invoice to Rix Telekom AB. If they didn't, taxes applied which almost split the the prize money into half what was announced originally.
Instead, DreamHack already taxed the money and will send the money after the LAN has closed - sometimes up to several months, which is the major problem with this way of managing the prize money.
GosuGamers were proud to use our quite new tournament script and we were pleased to see that it worked without any problems. This year we also required a seat and row number of each participant, meaning we could easily speak to the players not being present by simply walking to the seat they designated when registering.

Daaman, coming from the loser brackets, will play 
iG.Mireille tomorrow. The finals features a total number of three best-out-of-threes, where Mireille will be given the win for the first one. This means we have 1-0 to Mireille with two matches remaining, each consisting of a best-out-of-three. GosuGamers will most likely be able to video shoutcast these finals match with audio commentary by myself, Jonathan.
