The WCG.Germany organisation has just announced the location for this year's german qualifiers and everything about the tournament itself.
If everything pays out, this year's qualifiers could be the very best german qualifiers ever, coming close to the main event in Singapore itself. The location will be no other, but the "Tropical Islands", a gigantic hall near Berlin where you can swim, relax or in this case get yourself a ticket to Singapore. The hall itself was originally built to produce Cargolifters (huge Zeppelins), but was changed into a swimming paradise where there's constantly 25°C now. The hall has several areas, some are done to look like the rain forest, others imitate the atlantic etc.
The tournament will take place from 9th to 11th September, 16 players will take part and 2 are qualified already.
Qualification system (16 spots altogether):
- 1 spot for the best placed player on the Samsung European Championships
- 3 spots WWCL Season 7
- 4 spots WWCL Season 8
- 2 spots GIGA Liga Summer
- 1 spot GIGA Liga Fall
- 5 spots online tournament
As you can see there are several ways to qualify to this year's WCG Germany Qualification. ToT)Mondragon( and Methos[pG] have already reserved themselves a spot, Mondragon by winning the SEC, Methos by winning a mini-tournament organised by GIGA (s. bottom).

Besides the traditional online tournament, the GIGA Liga and the SEC, the WWCL has been included as well this year. WWCL is a Lan-System, which means for every Lan you place good in the bw tournament, you get WWCL points. There has been a lot of critics towards the WWCL, though. BW is no typical Lan-game in Germany, which means a lot of players can't attend any WWCL-Lan, but there was more than that. The WCG organisation has also reserved three spots for the WWCL Season 7, which was over before it was announced that you can qualify via WWCL.
