In December, the company announced cuts to the massive online battle arena game's development team and a halt to HotS esports events.
"We’ll continue actively supporting the game with new heroes, themed events, and other content that our community loves, though the cadence will change," the statement from chief executive J. Allen Brack and chief development officer Ray Gresko said. "Ultimately, we’re setting up the game for long-term sustainability."
But it appears the pace of hero development actually dropped in 2018, well before the announcement. So far, any new change to that cadence has been minor.
