We're nearing the end of this phase and as the playoffs approach all eyes are on the current top eight teams in the standings. While it looks as though they may already be set, it only takes one cup for the possibility to shake things up before the playoffs begin.
Tonight in North America, HeroesHearth will play against TNC. Sound unfamiliar? TNC has played in Open Division since the bonus cup, making it to quarterfinals in that cup along with the fourth and the fifth as well, losing both two against Hold it Down (HearoesHearth). As the bracket fell this week, with Flame is Lame no where in sight, TNC were able to advance to the semi-finals this go round. They currently sit at eigth place in the standings, right on the line to make it to the playoffs so TNC will need to show some impressive play either tonight or in two weeks for the last cup if they have any hope left.
On the other side of the bracket, Donkeys R Us will face against Imported Support. Two of the most impressive teams in the HGC Open Division as they both sit at second and third place in the standings. Both teams have advanced to the finals in previous cups but this will only be the second time the two have faced against each other all season. The first being the previous cup, with Imported Support ultimately coming on top, 2-0.
After tonigh only ONE cup remains until the playoffs, October 2-5.
