Week in and week out teams will fight to move up in the standings and secure their spot in the playoffs, along with a potential chance to play in the HGC Premier League. With this phase the top eight will move to the playoffs so now more than ever, every single cup is important.

Around 30 teams are signed up and ready to face off in this third European Open Division Cup. We’re almost half way through the season but there is still time to sign up and compete! Wrack up points in every cup and climb the standings to the top eight and advance to the playoffs! The top two from the playoffs will then play the two lowest HGC Premier League teams for their chance at taking their spot going into 2018.

Bushido e-Sports currently sit atop the standings with 240 points as they’ve won the first two open division cups back to back. Team Leftovers are just behind them with 165 points as they’ve participated in both cups, earning third in the first cup and second place in the second. Run it Down also deserves an honorable mention, at a tight third place under Team Leftovers with 135 points. Run it Down faced Bushido e-Sports in the semi-finals of both Open Division Cups and although they lost both times, securing their top four spot has still earned them third place in the standings and if they keep up their momentum they have the potential to take the second place spot over Team Leftovers.

Schiesseisen made an impressive showing in the second cup, taking games over Who Am I and Team Leftovers both. Despite their lackluster performance in the first cup, their energy in the second gave them enough points to sit at the sixth spot in the standings. Schiesseisen will need some expert performance in the cups to follow as only only eight make it to the playoffs this phase.

Today at 18:00 CET the next seven weeks of amateur European competitive Heroes begins as teams hunger for a spot in the HGC Premier League.
