Bracket Set for North American Open Division Playoffs

Tournament Hub

As the seven weeks of North American Open Division have completed, the top 16 teams will now play for one of the two spots in The Crucible, May 27th-28th. There, they will to play against the lowest two teams in the HGC Premier League for the chance at taking their spot.

Two spots in the bracket have not been filled out due to six teams all tieing for 15th/16th place. These teams will play in a best of one series Monday before the playoffs start to determine the final two teams into the bracket.

LFM comes into the playoffs as the top seed as they played in every single cup, winning 4, 5, and 6, back to back taking out powerhouses like UT-A and Imported Support. LFM has made their name known in competitive Heroes of the Storm and certainly have a good chance to advance to The Crucible, and even the HGC Premier League. UT-A was a top leader in the Open Division during the early cups but fell short only advancing to the quarterfinals in the remainder of the cups they entered. The Heroes of the Dorm champions come in a s third seed but still have a solid chance at being a contender in the playoffs.

All games up until the semifinals will be best of three, while the semifinals and finals will be best of five matches. While the top two teams will advance to The Crucible, the overall winner of the playoffs will get to choose which of the bottom two HGC Premier League teams they will face.
