In the final BlizzCon qualification match, MVP Miracle battled L5 to determine who would join MVP Black at BlizzCon.

Despite defeating reigning champions Tempo Storm, MVP Miracle could not maintain their momentum as they fell to L5, 1-3. As a result, L5 will join MVP Black as the two Korean representatives at BlizzCon.

You can watch the match here.

In their previous match in the playoffs, L5 defeated MVP Miracle, 3-2. Although L5 emerged victorious in the first series, they found themselves down 1-2 in the series. Their surprise Sgt. Hammer confounded MVP Miracle, allowing L5 to triumph in last two games and take the series. After that match, however, MVP Miracle rebounded by eliminating Tempo Storm from the tournament. Conversely, L5 proceeded to lose a lopsided match to MVP Black.

The rematch would once again pit former Team No Limit (TNL) members against each other. Former TNL members, CrazyMoving and Sniper of MVP Miracle hoped to avenge their loss to L5’s Noblesse and sCsC. The series was not just a rematch, but also the final qualification match for BlizzCon. The winners would book their tickets to BlizzCon, while the losers would be eliminated from the tournament.

Game 1

In game 1 on Infernal Shrines, MVP Miracle gave L5 a taste of their own medicine by taking Sgt. Hammer for themselves.

  • L5 drafted a solo support Auriel, while MVP Miracle complemented Sgt. Hammer with Brightwing and Tassadar.
  • L5 won the first two punishers, securing an early lead.
  • However, L5 could not put any pressure onto MVP Miracle’s Sgt. Hammer.
  • As a result, MVP Miracle dragged L5 into long team fights and ultimately outlasted them with their double support composition.

Game 2

L5 barely survived in a very competitive game 2 on Tomb of the Spider Queen.

  • L5 secured Noblesse’s signature hero, Muradin.
  • At the end of the game, MVP Miracle captured the boss and escorted it to push L5’s top lane.
  • After destroying L5’s top keep, MVP Miracle retreated a little too late.
  • In the ensuing team fight, L5’s Thrall landed a key Sundering to separate MVP Miracle’s Rehgar from his team, allowing L5 to secure four kills and win the game.

Game 3

Tied 1-1, both teams resorted to double tank compositions on Sky Temple.

  • While both teams drafted two warriors, L5 complemented their team with two damage dealers.
  • Conversely, MVP Miracle supplemented their lineup with two supports.
  • With Valla as their only damage, MVP Miracle struggled in the team fights.
  • Like in game 2, in the deciding moment, MVP Miracle overextended and L5 capitalized.
  • Once L5 secured one kill off of Miracle’s poor positioning, L5’s Li-Ming refused to let the remaining members escape.
  • With the victory, L5 needed 1 more win to qualify for BlizzCon.

Game 4

Facing elimination on Dragon Shire, MVP Miracle refused to change their draft.

  • Despite losing game 3, MVP Miracle remained unfazed and decided to repeat their exact draft from game 3 with Valla as their only assassin.
  • L5 made some adjustments: they complemented Li-Ming, Tyrael, and Johanna with Falstad and Auriel.
  • Like in game 3, MVP Miracle could not secure a single kill primarily because of their lack of damage.
  • In the final moments of the game, L5 secured a rotational kill on Arthas and captured the Dragon Knight.
  • Although L5 initially hoped to just eliminate the middle keep, L5’s Tyrael isolated and killed the enemy Valla.
  • As a result, L5 exploited MVP Miracle’s lack of damage and immediately pounced on the core.
