Athero is to replace AlexTheProg, who retires not only from Team Dignitas, but also from competitive Heroes of the Storm
Team Dignitas announced on Twitter on September 2 that AlexTheProg has decided to retire from competitive Heroes. As he stated, he has been considering this decision for a long time, even before joining Team Dignitas. However, he was thrilled to join a team with some of the best players in Europe, hoping for his passion to be revived. However, this did not happen, and being under pressure, Alex retired even before BlizzCon.
Bakery explained that Alex had a hard time during his first steps with Team Dignitas and received a lot of negativity. Nevertheless, he did not let Team Dignitas down at DreamHack: Valencia or Gamescom. Both the team and the captain pointed out that they "have nothing but respect for what Alex gave to the team". Team Dignitas plans to "carry the momentum" that Alex gave it and move forward to the BlizzCon Global Championship.
After an agreement with Team Liquid, Lawrence Harper, also known as Athero, is returning to Team Dignitas, in order to fill in the tank position and get prepared for BlizzCon. Athero used to be in Team Dignitas in the past and appears to feel happy to be back in the team with his old friends, while thanking Team Liquid both for having hima and for being "such a friendly and helpful organisation".
Bakery noted that filling in Alex's position was not an easy task, but he is confident that Athero is the right person for it, being "the only player" that can carry out the role Team Dignitas needs. The captain of the team didn't omit to mention that it is difficult to determine whether this change will affect the "road" to BlizzCon, but everyone will do their best to achieve their desirable goal.
