Popular Heroes of the Storm streamer Chu8 has formed a team to compete for a spot in the Burbank regional.
Many top Heroes streamers on Twitch are already active members in the competitive scene. That's not the case for Chu8 however - he is one of the top Heroes streamers and hasn't played in competitive tournaments until now. Chu8 recently formed "Chu 8 My Hotdoge" with HandleBars, Rawrior, Talaz and yodatv and will be competing in the third NA qualifier on Sunday.
Chu8 is considered one of the top Heroes of the Storm players, but 5v5 competitive play is a very different game. A lot of new teams are coming up through the ranks for the Fall Burbank Regional so there's definitely potential for this new team to join the ranks. This will be their first time competing as a team so there's no way to know exactly how they will perform.
The qualifier starts Sunday and teams will be fighting for a chance at competing in the first NA Fall Regional. The top two teams from the qualifier will move on to compete among North America's best teams in the first NA Fall Regional at the ESL Studio in Burbank, CA. There's a prize pool of $100,000 on the line in Burbank but more importantly the top team will move on to the Fall Global Championship at BlizzCon where $1,000,000 is up for grabs. And, if Chu 8 My Hotdoge is able to prove themselves, they might even open up to talks with sponsors.
Let's just hope we don't see any plays like this when Chu 8 My Hotdoge competes.
