First four EU teams secure spot at DreamHack: Tours

After a weekend full of upsets four teams have qualified for the second EU Summer Regional at DreamHack: Tours in May.

The best teams across Europe clashed this weekend, battling for a spot in the second European Summer Regional at DreamHack All-Stars in Tours, France. The first four teams have qualified for the main event on May 13-14. There's a prize pool of $100,000 on the line, and more importantly, the top two teams will move on to the Summer Global Championship in Jönköping, Sweden on June 18-20.

The first qualifier on Saturday was full of upsets as Na'Vi and Team Liquid became the first two to qualify. Na'Vi won their first series 2-0 over Virtus.Pro, but went on to win 2-0 over Team Dignitas, regarded as one of the best teams in Europe. Team Liquid played an intense first series against mYinsanity, winning just 2-1 and moving on to face Fnatic for a chance at qualifying. The final series was close, but Team Liquid ultimately came out on top.

In the second qualifier of the weekend on Sunday, Dignitas came back with power and won 2-0 in both series, guaranteeing themselves a spot at DreamHack. Fnatic played a very close first series against Epsilon, winning 2-1. Then, in a dominating victory, Fnatic won 2-0 to upset mYi and qualify for DreamHack. mYinsanity is considered one of the best teams in the European region, and represented EU alongside Dignitas at the Spring Global Championship.

There is one final qualifier April 30 - May 1 where four more teams will qualify for DreamHack: Tours. Then, the top eight European teams will clash at DreamHack hoping to go on and face the best teams in the world at the Summer Global Championship.
