Tracer Spotlight showcases first Overwatch hero

The new Tracer Spotlight shows just how powerful the new hero will be, but she also might be the hardest to date.

Tracer will be the next addition to the game, as well as the first Overwatch hero in Heroes of the Storm. She brings a unique kit to the game, unlike anything we've seen so far.

D - Trait: Reload

Tracer's trait, Reload, allows her to lock on to targets and shoot them while moving. She uses an ammo mechanic over mana that reloads when she's out, and activating her D ability will reload manually.

Q - Blink

Tracer's Q ability, Blink, stores multiple charges that allow her to zip around the battlefield quickly. Correct use of this ability will showcase a master Tracer.

W - Melee

Tracer's Melee attack is just that - a close range pistol whip that will damage enemies, prioritizing heroes.

E - Recall

The recall ability allows Tracer to travel backwards in time, traveling to the position she was in a few seconds prior. On top of this, it will clear her of most negative effects. Combining this with Blink will allow for crazy mobility, making her a hard target to kill.

R - Pulse Bomb

Unlike any other hero, Tracer's ultimate ability is available at level 1. Pulse Bomb will charge up as she attacks enemies with basic attacks and landing melee attacks. Pulse Bomb is a grenade that sticks to enemies dealing heavy damage. At level 10, there are three different Pulse Bomb upgrades to choose from.

  • Sticky Bomb: Increases explosion radius and slows enemies.
  • Quantum Spike: Increases damage against a single target
  • Pulse Rounds: Increase throwing range and allows her basic attacks to charge Pulse Bomb faster.

Tracer is a very mobile ranged assassin and her main source of damage comes from her basic attacks. There are bound to be some awesome combos in the future, and it will be interesting to see how she changes the game.

Tracer will be joining the Nexus on Tueday for fans who have pre-ordered Overwatch: Origns edition. She should be available to everyone the following Tuesday, April 26th.
