Dehaka patch is live and everything feels shiny and new

Even if we Ignoring the huge balance updates, new battleground, and the new hero, this patch still tops the list of improvements and quality of life features.

March 29th is a big day for Heroes of the Storm. It's the day when...

  • Hero bans have been added to draft mode for both Hero and Team League games.
  • The Draft Lobby has received an overhaul and additional visual polish.
  • A “Favorites” bar has been added during the hero select draft phase.
  • Death recaps have been added
  • Hotkey profiles have been added
  • Quick Cast for Individual Abilities has been added
  • Sylvanas has finally gotten a possession re-work that is actually competitively viable.
  • and finally, Rehgar’s Ghost Wolf form now matches the skins tint he chose.

The tip of the patch iceberg

This is just a small list of the new improvements added to the game. Kael'Thas, Tychus, Gazlowe, Illidan and Sylvanas have finally gotten the comprehensive re-works they have desperately needed and playing with no longer feels like a liability to your team. If you haven't already check out the patch notes yourself for a full list of changes.

When playing the new patch the word that comes to mind most is polished. The game feels much more complete and with all of the visual and audio polish added to the game, it becomes harder and harder to make the "Starcraft 2 custom map" joke. It's going to take a while to fully take in all of the changes and how they will affect the competitive meta, but after a couple weeks we should have a solid idea.

In the meantime, we know that Dehaka seems very strong and adding bans into Hero League has improved match quality tremendously.
