HotS weekly news roundup: February 1-7

If you haven't kept up to date on Heroes of the Storm, here's everything important from last week!

ETS EU playoff brackets

The playoff bracket for EU Enter the Storm Cup #4 has been announced. Day 1 starts Monday, February 15th at 18 CET where Na'Vi will play Bubble and GIZ plays TSaM in the first round of the tournament. This event features some of the best teams the European region, and a $10,000 prize pool.

Ess of Johan needs a nerf

Li-Ming came out Tuesday, February 2 and one of her talents, Ess of Johan, is already bringing up conversation of nerf.

"For it's power level, Ess of Johan shouldn't be a level 4 talent."

Four teams left in ANZ qualifers

Even though only one team can represent the ANZ region in the Spring Championship in South Korea, 30 signed up to compete to be the representing team, but only four remain. The ANZ regional championship will be held on February 28th and the winning team will represent the region in the spring championship alongside teams from across the world.

Virtus.pro and Na'Vi qualify

After an intense weekend in the Katowice spring championship qualifier Na'Vi and Virtus.Pro proved their dominance of the European Region, qualifying for the main event where they'll go against some of the top teams in Europe to earn a spot in the Spring Championship. The February 2nd patch shook things up in the current meta and this definitely showed in the third Katowice qualifier.

Li-Ming banned? Pick Lunara.

The February 2nd patch not only released a very powerful Li-Ming, but also balanced and corrected some heroes, giving new heroes a chance at competitive play. Since the release, Li-Ming has been a top priority when it comes to bans because of the insane amount of damage and utility she has. As a result of this, we've seen new heroes getting a chance at competitive play, including a previously bottom tier hero - Lunara.

Tempo Storm and COGnitive qualify

The NA Spring Qualifiers happened last weekend and Zeratul dominated the drafts. COGnitive Gaming and Tempo Storm were able to clutch victories, sending them to the NA Regional Spring Championship in Las Angeles, California on February 27th-28th. Both teams drafted outside the previous meta making the qualifiying games extremely interesting.
