Na'Vi tops Team Liquid to win Stormgrounds invitational

It has been a while since Na'Vi won a series against Team Liquid, but the time has come. The new patch seems to be favoring Na'Vi as they keep providing us with solid games and convincing performances. The Stormgrounds Invitational proved to be no different as they reached a final against rival Liquid and won it in an impressive 3:1 manner.

Both teams did not drop a single game on their way to the finals with Na'Vi defeating Fnatic and Roccat 1:0 and 2:0 respectively and Liquid steam rolling through Kappa123 and Alternate Fancy with the same results. This left us with a final that we are all too familiar with. Until this Na'Vi always fell short to dethroning Liquid, but this time the series took a different turn.

The first game paired both teams going double support, Na'Vi picking Rhegar and Tyrande and Liquid going Lilly and Uther. In addition to that Liquid used Blackscorp on Nazeebo and Falcon on Zagara as their damage dealers backed up by a Lilly with a Water dragon. Alas this was not enough to stop Ethernal's Kael'thas and Na'Vi clinched the victory.

This core looks like it's going to die, but it doesn't

The second game was a crazy one featuring Vortix on Abathur, one of his signature picks and a Na'Vi double tank composition with Breez on Johanna and Schwimpi on Anub'arak. A back and forth game which ended accordingly, with Na'Vi pushing to a 6% core, getting wiped and having to watch Liquid steal the victory in a counter push.

The third game was a pleasure to watch, allowing us to see the best Illidan in Europe, Ethernal, show that he still got it even after the nerfs. Being backed by the crowd control monsters Johanna and Muradin, he managed to lead his team to the victory over Vortix on Abathur and Lucifron on Arthas. With the series being 2:1 for Na'Vi, the next game promised to be a show.

Despite the fact that Liquid had a seemingly better composition with GranPkt on Rhegar and Blackscorp on Tassadar, Na'Vi controlled the game from the beginning with their three assassins being Wubby on Kerrigan, Ethernal on Jaina and Schwimpi on Valla. The game dragged up to level 24 with Splendour not choosing an Uther 20th level talent to the very end. This did not cause any problems, as Wubby sneaked a Dragon Knight and Na'Vi managed to push the core and win the final.
