MVP Black are the first confirmed finalist at the MGA Grand-finals. They did so by winning the MGA Heroes of the Storm Asia Qualifier. In the finals, which are held in Seattle, the team will face international competition from Europe, North America, China and Southeast Asia.
MVP Black's run to the final was flawless without dropping any games against Taiwan's Fantasy Excallibur and South Korea's HerO. In the final they met Team No Limit, where they had a dominating first game, but the second one was remade due to connection problems. This made them lose their momentum and drop a game, but they had no issue to stomp their opponent in the third one, finishing it in around 15 minutes.
MVP Black is a team that is notable for picking Sonya multiple times and playing her as a Melee Assassin along side a true tank. The usual buld they run was Focused Attack, Follow Through and Wrath of the Berserker which is something we haven't seen before.
With Heroes of the Storm expanding we are excited to see how differently the meta shapes in China and South Korea as opposed to the West. This promises to bring interesting international games and the MGA Grand-finals will be an event featuring just that. Curious to see how this Sonya madness works?
