Heroes of the Storm will have its launch event on the 1st of June in London at 8:30 p.m. BST (21:30 CEST) and it will be live streamed at NexusCalling.com. The venue is the Old Billingsgate Hall.

The event will feature, Game Director Dustin Browder and Senior 3D Artists Phill Gonzales and Luke Mancini who will be there to provide some interesting insight on the game and the way it grew to reach this climatic moment. To make sure everybody has a great time, your hosts will be the well-known UK TV and radio presenter Iain Lee and eSports personality Sue ‘Smix’ Lee. For all the music lovers, Madeon will be in charge of the good atmosphere.

Heroes of the Storm went through a lot as a project. The vague concept of it was spread through the community back in the Warcraft 3 days as a response to the rising in popularity mod Dota Allstars. Even though a lot of us were excited for a possible Blizzard Allstars, the project was never heard of in the following years. That was until 2010, when at Blizzcon a few mods for Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty were announced. One of those mods had the name "Blizzard Dota". After 3 years of testing and development with a part of the Starcraft: Heart of the Swarm team being relocated to the developent of this new idea, the project had its name changed to "Heroes of the Storm".

On the 13th of March, the game entered Technical Alpha, on the 13th of January it entered closed beta and recently, on the 19th of May, it entered its open beta stage. It has been a long journey, but finally the project some of us have waited for in the past decade is going to get released.
