Liquid: "Need at least 20 [more] heroes"

We sat down with PGL champions Team Liquid and casters Tetcher and Khaldor about their Bucharest experience and general thoughts on the scene.

Our first interview was with popular casters Khaldor and Tetcher. Both casted the entire tournament for PGL. The interview started with general thoughts on the first LAN with both having a great first time experience in Bucharest. The interview progressed to their thoughts on the competitive scene. Both feel that the talent on Liquid, Fnatic and Gamers2 are above the other teams in Europe. Liquid certainly with former Starcraft II players has a lot of eSports and LAN experience on their record.

The interview ended with thoughts on the release date of June 2. Khaldor expects some big patch(es) to come out to smooth out the process for new players. Tetcher had two specific concerns: lack of observer slots in-game and a revamp of matchmaking to ensure equity between player levels.

Our second interview was with Team Liquid members LucifroN and Vortix. The interview started with their own boot camp in preparation for PGL. Unlike some of the other teams, Liquid mostly knew each other, and didn't feel a boot camp was needed. As they've been playing against the same top tier teams in the scene, they felt comfortable with the strategies they would see in this tournament.

On the game state, both thought that Blackheart Bay and Haunted Mines are the worst maps with both being "snowbally" (read: Changes needed). They hinted at possibly players designing their own maps in the future. For the launch itself, they felt the game was in a good position for release. Their biggest concern was having more heroes with "at least 20 more heroes" needed (and a mention on tweaking matchmaking!).
