The statistic found in Activion Blizzard's Fourth Quarter and Full year report for 2014 is a positive sign of what's to come.
That's a lot of new Nova players.
Or at least a lot of potential Nova players. In a recent report published by Activion Blizzard, the follow description of the Heroes of the Storm closed Beta was released:
"On January 13, 2015, Blizzard Entertainment began the closed beta test for Heroes of the Storm™, its upcoming free-to-play online team brawler featuring iconic heroes from more than 20 years of Blizzard gaming history. To date, more than nine million players have signed up to beta test the game."
It's an impressive number. Although it is unclear whether this means 9 million players are actively playing the game or whether or not 9 million players have just "signed up" for the beta, it is still a remarkably high number of players for a game that was only just recently taken out of it's Alpha stage. This is particularly good news for fans of the ever growing game, as it was only very recently that a reported leak from a claimed Blizzard insider was found on Yahoo Finance that claiming low expectations of success internally for Heroes of the Storm.
