WCG USA: lastgosu wins, defeats Day 2-1 *

The WCG Usa preliminaries are almost over in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, and only two players remain to get the last qualifying spot to Monza. Those two players are the race picker lastgosu and the Zerg player Day[9].

At the start of the tournament the organizers seeded the players according to how they performed at the US Open and their respective Regional event. After the seeding was done they had the groups set to four (4) groups of three (3) players. To advance to the next round you had to win your group since only the winner advanced. If there was a tie group play, with everyone going 1-1, with the exact same number games won and games lost, they would move into a sudden death BO1 round robin mode until someone won 2-0 against the other two players. Then, the four (4) players who advance would move into a double elimination bracket play.

Now that you know all you need to know, here are the groups and how everyone did:

In this group we had a 1-1 tie with all games going 2-0 between all the players after the regular matches were finished. So, this enforced the sudden death BO1 round robin play until someone went 2-0 against both of their opponents.

Thus, after the group stage, only four players remained: Day[9] , NonY, Artosis and lastgosu.
