Interview with Raistlin

[s]interview[/s]

Our beloved editor-in-chief Patrik "Raistlin" Hellstrand has just been interview on PGTour by l2k-SpecOpsX, talking about many subjects like the Swedish Army, WCG, DreamHack, Warcraft III and of course GosuGamers !

As United States l2k-SpecOpsX says in the title of his interview, Patrik is really the GG.net's engine. Aged 19, he has already taken part in the most important e-Sports events like Nordic World Cyber Games, for which he has been a StarCraft referee, back in 2004. As the leader of the Swedish National Team, Raistlin is also getting involved in projects in Sweden, like the DreamHack tournament.

Here is an extract from his interview :
He’s been manager for StarCraft’s National Team Sweden for almost two years now. However, that is not his main focus.

My number one focus is GosuGamers. Being the editor-in-chief there gives me a lot of work. I also manage the WarCraft II almost all by myself. The national team comes second, but normally it’s just a couple of hours per week

When asked what the toughest part about running the news for GG.net, Raistlin replies:

Late nights I guess, but my dedication and motivation always seem to be on top. There’s always something to write about, always events to cover.
I’m constantly trying to bring in more staff for the WarCraft III section. There are three of us who work there, but I take most of the responsibility and do most of the work. The WarCraft III section has a constant flow of news, and interviews at times. The trouble is our very small fan base.

Definitely, the GosuGamer’s fan base is mostly StarCraft
, added Raistlin.

We expanded last summer, which makes the other sections (WC3 and WoW) almost a year old now, pointed out Raistlin.

I asked Raistlin what was next for GG.net.

Seeing as how we will have a couple of attendants at the Grand Final in Italy, we will do our very best to cover WCG as much as we can, explained Raistlin. Other than that, we’re hoping for the other leagues to get started as soon as possible, like the ESL Clan League, WGTour Clan League and events like that. Our editorial staff is going through some changes with people leaving and joining. I hope it will turn out for the better; we always strive to offer better coverage without sacrificing quality.

Some of us are going as WCG referees. It’s not 100% confirmed yet, but we will probably have at least two of our members who will be referees in the StarCraft game. Some of us will go there only as press,
he added.
