Dreamhack results

[s]event[/s]Dreamhack - the worlds biggest LAN-party - and the Brood War tournament has just come to an end.

GosuGamers hosted the SC: BW tournament as official and very proud Dreamhack Crew members. First of all, we hosted a 2on2 tournament with a total of 19 - 38 players - registered teams. Due to some network connection problems at Dreamhack, however, we had to postpone the tournament since nobody could join a game.

The tech crew soon told us (1 day later) that it was all set to go, and so we did. This time only 15 teams registered and confirmed, but still enough to make an interesting tournament. There's one thing special about Dreamhack - there's a big variation of the games here, and the players who usually aren't interested in Starcraft at Battle.net get a chance to show their hasuness (even though they are probably not aware of the word's meaning). Due to this, we chose to have the discussed map Lost Temple, since it's currently the most well known map. The tournament went well, we played maps such as Gaema Gowon, Bifrost and Dhalia of Jungle. Since this tournament was not sponsored as an official tournament with prizemoney, we in the crew participated as well. So, in the top 3 (6) of the 2on2 tournament, 4 out of the 4 GosuGamers Crew members present were on the list. Wooha!

The 1on1 tour with a bit more prestige started without any problems. As Delicato and TreK did this summer, and the winter before that, they did it this year as well. Do what? Well, win it. As usual. The tournament consisted of 33 players and lasted for a couple of hours. Here are the results:

Since Mellow is a game crew member, he didn't get any prizemoney, but still a nice golden cup and some USB Flashlights (woooow!!! ).

Congratulations to TreK, who keeps on winning and winning everywhere. Very nice work by DeliCato who ended up as second in both the Starcraft and the Warcraft 3 tournament (!).

Thanks a lot to Wecksell for letting us borrow his very neat tour-script. The final replay of the 1on1 tournament can be found in the replay section. TreK made a nice cheesy strategy, well worth checking out.
