Up and Coming II: Nesh And Avi-Love

[s]event_14[/s]

The second edition of the up and coming tournament is being played tomorrow, saturday, at 19:00 CET. We already gave you two tiny interviews with MarinE and datoby. Here's Nesh and Avi-Love, as well as a comment on the tournament from the former champion Hullah.

Hello, Avi-Love, please introduce yourself and your BW style.
My name is Mathias Høyer, I play Zerg (Although I also enjoy playing TvZ from time to time), I generally play a pretty conservative type of macro oriented zerg in zvp/zvt, while I just try my best to outmicro players in zvz - Although I do have a few tricky timed builds!

In this tournament your first opponent is rS.Cancel (aka ash.city). Have you played with him before? Do you know him at all? are you confident?
I think I have played him before, and at the time I won, but not by a lot. I think he's a good player, but with a few days left for practicing I think I'll be able to beat him!

When the news about the tournament first came up there were some comments saying that you didn't fit in, you were too good and would easily win. What do think about that?
Yeah I read those, and I was a bit upset honestly- Although I like that people support me, they made it sound like it was an insult to invite me. I disagree with that notion, and I'm glad I got to take a part of this great tournament. I think no player is better than his recent results, and I haven't really done much, so it's a great opportunity (although I've been inactive a bit) Also, my good friend uT)Stormtoss was in the finals last time, where he lost to hullah.. so I'd like to win this one :)

Do you consider yourself as one of the favorites? Who else would you consider favorites?
Hrm, not really.. I think everyone can win if they have a good day; I've been inactive for a bit and only had a week to practice, so I'd actually put myself in the "worse" half of likely winners hehe. And hrm, I think that Datoby, Stardeath, Push and Marine are the best players in this.

What about the maps. It's basically last seasons OGN/MBC maps without Desert Fox, but with Geometry instead.
I was actually VERY thrilled to see those maps! I thoroughly love playing the new maps, especially when there's still room to invent innovative strategies. But I must admit that I haven't played Geometry much, I've mostly been focusing on the round 1 map which is Reverse LT, because it's important for me to win at least 1 game. But it seemed pretty neat, and not too horrible as for balance - but it's definitely a hard map to master.

You're in uT), tell us a little about that?
Well it all started with me being a bit inactive and on a "bw break". I had a good friend in uT at the time, uT)Debillol, and he asked me to join - after a few test games I came to find uT were much better than I had expected, and I joined :) I've never doubted that choice honestly. I practice with whoever is online on my f l at any given time, the majority happens to be uT, so that's great hehe. I dunno, I think everyone in uT deserves to be in a up and coming 3 tourney, they're all great players, really underrated :)

Anything else you want to say to anyone who might read this at ggnet?
I'd like to say thanks to all of the gg.net people for hosting a great site and inviting me to this tournament, and I'd also like to thank all of uT, for always giving me the chance to play clanwars and doing somewhat decently in them - Also, Tobias and Oskar are adorable creatures, <3 Sweden!
Well, there you have it. A dane who loves Sweden, certainly not your average Dane. Here is United States rS.Nesh:

- My name is Dhinesh Kumar Devanathan, and I am from NJ, USA. Originally I was from India, but i moved to the US when i was young. I consider myself a nice and kind person. A lot of people don't consider me as a good player, but however I don't let it get to me. Currently, I am part of Team rSports. I play with all the rS players and some few unknown players. One of my friends just got known, I think he went by the name MgZ)sea3, aka Dinosaur. I used to play with him a lot. My favorite Match is TvZ. I really don't have a dislike with any match ups. My play style is very unique compared to other gamers. I am a very time oriented player. My TvT is exceptionally unique. I try to play by making the game fun and exciting at all times. As you know in TvT, you just sit and use tanks while macroing. However, when i play TvT, its always constant attacks =D. My best match up is TvP. This is probably because, this was the first Terran Match up I learned. I don't know, TvP just came to me naturally.

You say you are strong in TvP. Your first opponent just happens to be a Protoss, Qpad.datoby. Have you played him before/know him. How do you think you'll do vs him?
I have never played him, and have no idea who he is. This is the first time i've seen his name. I will try my best to defeat him. I think it might be a close call since I don't usually play the maps that are on the list.

Do you prefer to play on older maps like Luna etc? Do you not think we should have the newest StarLeague maps in our tournament so often?
NO LUNA!! I like the new maps. I only looked at reverse temple, Blitz X and Longinus, which by the way are all excellent maps. The other three maps, I will practice tonight.

Of the other players in the tournament are there any you hold as favorites or would like to avoid if you make it that far?
- I would like to avoid my teammate till the finals. I really haven't heard about the other players besides moon and target. They are friends of mine and we play sometimes. However, those guys are making up secret strategies and don't want to practice with me. I played Marine before, he is pretty good. There isn't anyone who I want to avoid. I would like City to make it finals. w00t go city!

Target is in your side of the brackets
Ya, I hope he does well. On my side, if I don't make it, I would like him to go to finals.

What do you think about this tournament idea? Is it something you would like to see more of? Any suggestions on improvements/players to invite next time?
This tournament is an amazing idea. It gives lesser known players a chance to be known. I don't really have a suggestions on improvements/players to invite next time. Maybe the only thing is a losers bracket.

Anything else you want to say to the readers at ggnet?
I hope u guys had a fun reading and a shout out to lz and metal
We also asked Poland ToT)Hullah( as the former champion a few quick questions as he was packing to go to Rymarov. He said that he really likes the concept of up and coming since it allows unknown players to show what they are made of to a broader audience. He also said that due to this it's very hard to predict the favorites, but he did mention BeeswaX and datoby.
