Fnatic and ViCi Gaming wave goodbye to Kuala Lumpur Major

Fnatic and ViCi Gaming were the most recent teams to bid farewell to their Kuala Lumpur Major championship title dreams.

As the first DPC 2018-2019 season Major trudges along, the competition gets more intense and fierce. Today's two elimination series were nothing less than exciting for spectators and heated for competitors.

As TNC Predator went head to head with Vici Gaming, the first match already had set the stage for what would become a thrilling series. TNC started things off with a strong lead, looking solid and confident, but things started to fall apart for them about 30 minutes in. They tried to keep control of their lead and the game but ultimately were not able to and it all slipped from their grasp giving ViCi Gaming the first win. The second match was much of the same story but the roles were now reversed. It was ViCi Gaming's turn to lose a solid start close to 30 minutes in and watch their victory slip away as TNC evened out the series and pushed a deciding third game. Starting out neck and neck with their tournament lives on the line, the game could have belonged to anyone until TNC seized the lead and this time were sure to not it go at any costs. Building their momentum, the SEA team took control and won the game and the series, knocking ViCI Gaming out of contention.

Up next was the Evil Geniuses vs Fnatic game that sent fans and players on a whirlwind of an emotional journey with twists, turns and ups and downs.  With a thrilling end, Evil Geniuses had found their victory - barely. The second match was even across the board for the first 30 minutes. Once the Terrorblade was able to come online for the NA team, there was not much that was going to stop them and Evil Geniuses built up their lead and control for a 2:0 sweep, securing themselves a top six finish and another chance to aim for the title.

Now, only six teams remain in contention at the first official Valve Major of the 2018 DPC Season. The action resumes on Friday, after a day off for the teams. The first series will be Upper Bracket series between Team Secret and PSG.LGD at 05:00 CET.
