Rematches decide advancements to playoffs for EU Fall Regional

Two teams advance to the playoffs, as day one of the final EU Fall Regional comes and goes.

To begin the day, Dignitas took down ePunks 2-0 in the top of the group, being only one victory away from advancing to the playoff stage.

On the other side of the group, most assumed Fnatic v. To Bees Determined would be an easy 2-0 on Fnatics side but adrd's new team showed just how much they deserved to be there.
While game one went completely the way of Fnatic, game two was a different story. The casters were completely on track, pointing out the match was flat out Fnatic's to lose. While the Brightwing as solo support was a questionable pick, Cleanse paid off for TBD. The real turning point was a team fight at the altar that favored heavily for TBD. From then on they took the Immortal straight to the core.
TBD couldn't continue their momentum going into game 3. They took Medivh, but it didn't pay off.

On Tomb of the Spider Queen, Fnatic got two full turn ins, basically back to back, keeping the pressure hard. TBD failed at just about every turn-in team fight, failing to get barely any turn ins at all, at one point having 171 gems between the five heroes. Needless to say, Fnatic took game three and advanced to the 'main event' of the group, facing Dignitas.

As a rematch not only from the Group B stage at the first Fall Regional but the grand finale of that same regional, Fnatic faced Dignitas to decide who would advance to the playoffs.
The dream was still alive for a 2-1 for Fnatic as a repeat from the first fall regional, as they went to game three tied up. Game three seemed to be completely controlled by Dignitas with a punisher pushing just about straight to the core. But Fnatic fired back as both sides reached level 20, taking the fight to Dignitas. Winions showed their purpose as both teams focused altars top lane while catapults went on Dignitas' empty mid-lane, taking their core all the way down to 28%. Fnatic realized Dig's mistake, allowed them to take the immortal and immediately pushed core. After a tight base race, with the immortal pushing core, Dignitas was able to take game three.

ePunks then faced TBD in the lower bracket to decide who would play Fnatic for a last chance at advancing to the semi-finals. Besides Fnatic v. Dignitas, this was probably one of the most equal matchups of the day.

TBD took a risk taking Cho'Gall going into game two with a one game advantage. It seems that they took it as a counter to ePunks Tracer, when in fact Tracer along with Anub'Arak, turned out to be a counter to Cho'Gall. ePunks harassed the whole game and took the win, forcing game three.
Much like the whole series, game three was completely equal for just about the whole game. Going to level 10 the experience was fairly even along with hits on the core (Towers of Doom).
A huge contender for top play of the regional definitely has to be the Ring of Frost stun with the backed up Butcher damage on the side of TBD. Once they reached level 16, TBD took the match, and sent ePunks packing.

TBD moved on to the re-match against Fnatic to decide the final team to move on from Group A. Much like their first meeting of the day, the match became tied at 1-1 and went to a third game. Unfortunate for TBD, game three was all Fnatic, taking their final game of the day and advancing to the playoffs.

Group A is finished and two teams have advanced one step closer to punching their tickets to BlizzCon in November.
Group B gets their turn Thursday at 3:30am PST.
