Redemption: Top two from OSC emerging as winners to kick off the tournament

Without any coverage, the DreamHon Redemption tournament held it's opening day today. With Group A and B playing their first matches, the top two finishers from DreamHon OSC were already back in action.

Group A

The group of the reigning and defending DreamHon tournament champion, compLexity Gaming, was considered to be a tough one with QsQ357 coming off a playoff spot in the OSC, Lions came close to the playoffs and FackyouKurdi coming off a great start into the Group Stage in the OSC before falling apart. Still, the group has solid elements and should be a very exciting one in the quest to determine the two advancing teams.

In the first matches of the group, compLexity Gaming and Lions came away with a victory, leaving QsQ357 and FyKu behind. The reigning champion only took two maps once again against the prevailing QsQ team, as they repeated their success from the OSC playoffs, where they defeated QsQ357 2-0 in the Quarterfinals of the Upper Bracket. Lions proved their recent upswing, after they barely missed the playoff spot a month ago. Their victory over FackyouKurdi sets them into a perfect situation to go into the match against compLexity Gaming next week - the match that will already determine one playoff team from Group A.

Group B

Group B is the home of DreamHon OSC runner-up Trademark eSports, who just underwent a roster change by adding iNsania and zai, to replace fajN` and PabloMcDad. That real test to that change will come in clutch time, since the old tdM already went through group stages and playoffs, only beaten by compLexity Gaming. They added some pieces on the quest to dethrone compLexity Gaming, so group stage matches should not be an indication whether the team is stronger or weaker after all. Still the team managed to get a 2-1 victory over the strong Swedish team Fifteen, which can be considered a success.
In the second match of the day the Malaysian team MuFC claimed the victory after two long maps against Archi's Minions. The Malaysians are trying to avenge the OSC results, where no team from the SEA region - explicitely Malaysia - was able to reach the playoffs with MuFC and Orange eSports both falling just short of the top two spots in their respective groups.
