Luminosity lock grand finals spot in Trinity Series

The winner of Virtus.pro and compLexity will challenge the Americans for the title.

Europe vs. North America are slated to clash in yet another grand final after last night’s Trinity Series results. Still undefeated in the winners bracket, NA’s super-team Luminosity Gaming are guaranteed at least a top two finish after a 6-4 victory over compLexity seeded them into the finals. LG are in a prime position to take the trophy as well, as they’ve already defeated each of their potential opponents earlier in the bracket.

The lower bracket final is down to an all-European showdown between coL and Virtus.pro. The bears clawed down the horses in the battle for survival last night, after Liquid questionably left Warrior open for Virtus.pro, allowing VP to get a double kill on the back of pirates and weapons into a 6-4 victory. This was the second time Team Liquid lost to pirates’ onslaught after they made the same mistake against compLexity in the semi-finals. Viewers watched as Liquid desperately tried to stay alive with a greedy RenoMage running [card]inkmaster solia[/card] and [card]pyroblast[/card] which died to Pirate Warrior even after a clutch 20HP [card]Reno Jackson[/card] heal.

The champion of Trinity Series will be decided today and will bank half of the $150,000 prize pool. Team Liquid and the loser of the Lower Bracket final will take home $15,000 each, while the runner-ups will split $30,000.
