Decklist Spotlight: Savjz's #1 Legend Renolock

The Finnish streamer has held the #1 Legend position in EU for quite a while, using this list of cards.

Yesterday popular streamer Janne 'Savjz' Mikkonen hit the highest available rank, much to his joy. During the first week after Mean Streets of Gadgetzan's release many players have been playing with deck types. Pirate Warrior looks very strong so far, with the inclusion of [card]Patches the Pirate[/card] and [card]Small-Time Buccaneer[/card]. Jade Druid is another popular choice, although the most optimal build of the deck hasn't been found yet.

Savjz, however, chose to boost the power of a previously very popular deck: Reno Warlock. Using new cards and powerful interactions he has gone on an enormous win streak, solidifying his #1 position.

Looking at the list, [card]Dirty Rat[/card] is the first Mean Streets card in the list. It's not a card many will instantly think of putting in their deck, since the repercussions can be severe. Playing it on turn 2 and dragging out your opponent's [card]Ragnaros the Firelord[/card] will almost always result in a loss. However, the unwashed rodent isn't meant to be played on turn 2. Combined with [card]Brann Bronzebeard[/card], [card]Power Overwhelming[/card] and [card]Shadowflame[/card] opponents lose a lot of options for their next turn.

Further down the list is [card]Kazakus[/card]. From the moment he was shown it was obvious Renolocks would find him of good use, and it is no surprise he's included in Savjz's list. Often times a 10-mana spell is created through Kazakus, since the deck aims to drag the game out for as long as possible. A strong pick for the 10-mana effect is 'gain 10 armor', since it can allow [card]Lord Jaraxxus[/card] to go up to 25 health. Needless to say, combined with [card]Brann Bronzebeard[/card] Kazakus becomes even more fearsome.

A perhaps more surprising card found in the list is the [card]Second-Rate Bruiser[/card]. The ogre is a fantastic counter to the more aggressive Pirate Warrior decks that roam on ladder, and can just provide that extra turn needed to stabilize.

[card]Abyssal Enforcer[/card] is the fourth and last Mean Streets card included in the list. Its application isn't too difficult to spot: it's a board clear on a strong body. [card]Faceless Shambler[/card] is a nice follow-up if you have the coin, or if [card]Emperor Thaurissan[/card] has triggered on one of the minions, instantly creating a nice taunt wall of 6/6's.
