Kolento gets an invite to Batstone #1

The Firebat-hosted non-standard tournament that is to run on September 14th has gotten another heavy-hitting name.

One of the most winning Hearthstone players Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh joins the invites to Firebat’s inaugural Batstone. The series of tournaments organized by the former world champion aims to provide a different take on competitive Hearthstone and issue #1 of the series will introduce a five-card ban-list, which has been voted by the community to include cards like Yogg-Saron and [card]Tuskarr Totemic[/card].

Having won more than $114,000 in prize money over the course of his career, Kolento makes for a natural invite. The streamer kickstarted his career in 2014 winning Viagame HouseCup #1 and since then has gone on to play in eight different grand finals, winning six of those. Most recently, he competed in China to defend his crown in CN vs EU Championship 2016, narrowly losing to Zhang “Lovelychook” Bohan.

Kolento joins a respectable list of names, which at press time includues Jan “SuperJJ” Janssen, Keaton “Chakki” Gil, Thijs “ThijsNL” Molendijk and team-mate Cong “StrifeCro” Shu. Two more invites and one qualified player will be revealed before the tournament kicks off on September 14. Apart from the ban-list, Batstone #1 will have fairly standard format in a Bo5, one-ban Conquest.
