Truesilver Championship will crown its third champion today

It’s down to the last eight at the Birmingham venue.

Day two of Truesilver Championship 3 marked the end of the group stage phase and the unlikely eliminations of big time competitors. World Champion James “Firebat” Kostesich, two times DreamHack winner Dima “Rdu” Radu and Europe winter champion Ole “Naiman” Batyrbekov will be watching the finals from the bench as the tournament enters championship Sunday.

With exactly seven matches to go before the winner is crowned, several players stand to make a name for themselves. French player Vincent “Vinz” Ralambomiadana and local representative Christopher “Fire” Smith are among the less recognized competitors vying for a share of the $30,000. There’s also reigning Truesilver king Ness and the recently teamless Jan “Ekop” Palys still in the running.

Against them are stacked members of the ultimate Hearthstone elite. Reigning world champion Sebastian “Ostkaka” Engwall, tournament gods Sebastian “Xixo” Bentert and Jan “SuperJJ” Janssen and DreamHack Austin winner Keaton “Chakki” Gil are among the favorites to take the trophy by the end of today.
