This weekend the elites from America fight for a ticket to the Championships, and here are some of their decks.
Last weekend eight players from the European region managed to qualify for their Championships, but this weekend the western hemisphere will be the centre of attention. Playing from various locations throughout all of America, all elligible players face off in a best of 5, double elimination bracket to determine who is worthy of moving on to the next round. As has been the format for all other HCT events this year, each player may ban 1 of their opponent's decks before playing in a Conquest format.
Eyes will obviously be upon the more known faces within the community. Americas Winter Champion Amnesiac will once again compete, after having to drop out of the Spring Prelims due to a family event. The winner of the Spring Championships, the Canadian Cydonia, also reports for duty once more. The most well known player competing this weekend is former World Champion Firebat, who recently has not been competing as much as he used to. Nevertheless, he still remains as one of the most knowledgeable players within the community and will always be a force to be reckoned with.
