It’s a great start for the Americas circuit of GosuCup.
GosuCup HCT tournaments usually belong to the aspiring talents of the scene. With the big names quite often busy travelling to majors, these open cups became the chance for up-and-comers to advance their world championship campaign. In Europe, this led to the birth of stories like that of Deathboose, who became the second hat-trick champion after WaningMoon did the same in GosuCup SEA last year.
A humble player pool of 33 players gathered for the inaugural GosuCup HCT Americas on Monday night PDT. Although small at first sight, the tournament gathered players from every single region, including not just the Americas, but Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Europe.
Among the tournament favorites were DH Austin champion Chakki and rising US star Nostam. While the latter faced a surprisingly early elimination, Chakki went the distance and coined a 15-2 on record to become the first ever champion of GosuCup HCT Americas.
