GosuGamers is recruiting: Hearthstone tournament admins

Are you a Hearthstone fan who wants to help the competitive scene grow? Apply to become a GosuGamers tournament admin for Hearthstone and get to know and experience esports from behind the scenes.

About GosuGamers.net

For more than a decade, our mission at GosuGamers has been to deliver the highest quality esports content and coverage. Over the years, the site has grown from a small-scale hobby to a company that covers the global esports landscape in all its aspects and color, from established esports disciplines like Dota 2, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Star Craft 2 to up-and-coming ones including Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Overwatch.

What will being part of the GosuCrew give you?

  • Kickstart your involvement with the esports scene by working with like-minded, proactive individuals

  • Contacts with players/team managers and esports organizations. Get to meet the best players of today and the rising stars of tomorrow

  • A chance to help your scene grow. If you want to contribute to the growth of Hearthstone in your region - be it Europe, North America or even Asia - joining the GosuCrew is the way to do it

  • Learn from some of the most seasoned veterans in the industry.
Additionally, we’re always happy to help our outstanding volunteers take the next steps along their personal eSports path. We’ll write you a letter of recommendation to reflect the quality of your work, and many crew members have used this opportunity to move on and work for other esports companies or non-esports media.

What being part of Admin Crew entails/requires?

The admin crew are the backbone of all competitive activities on the GosuGamers platform and are vital cogs in the competitive engine of Hearthstone. As such, tournament admins carry out various tasks, including:

  • Design tournament formats, refine and standardize rules

  • Plan, schedule and execute open cups or tournament circuits

  • Interpret rules and guide players through the competition

  • Mediate and resolve conflicts

  • Help expand the GosuGamers tournament activities further.

While no former training or experience is mandatory, it would be beneficial for applicants to have:

  • Decent knowledge of Hearthstone. Many rules would require an admin evaluating certain in-game situations and as such admins will have to understand the language of the game, so to speak.

  • Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Dealing with players and solving their problems and conflicts requires patience and level-headedness.

  • Time management skills and work efficiency. With hundreds of players taking part in each open cup, this is guaranteed to lead to multiple active conflicts and tickets. Speed and efficiency are the building blocks for a top-notch admin.

  • At least one free night a week which they would like to dedicate to administration duties. Running Hearthstone tournaments is fun, but also time-consuming. Make sure kicking ass as a GosuAdmin won't interfere with your life outside esports.

While the open positions for GosuAdmins are unpaid, GosuGamers is the perfect place to hone your skills and begin your journey within the rapidly growing industry of esports.
