The Senior Game Designer of Hearthstone explains why there are "dry periods" between expansions and features.
Every now and then a thread pops up at the subreddit, discussing a missing feature in Hearthstone, or a feature which needs to be altered. A commonly found point of discussion is the limited amount of deck slots within the game, currently capped at 9. Blizzard has told the community many times they're working on it, but in this video Ben Brode explaines why this (and other features) take some time. The bottom line of the story could be summarized as follows: "We'd rather announce something when we think it's perfect, than to announce a feature and let you wait for it anxiously even though we're not done with it yet."
