Unknown player Lostov becomes Archon’s worst nightmare in StarLadder

The Russian is three for three currently, looking to slay the world champion next.

Team Archon is one of the best Hearthstone teams in the world but their success in the StarLadder Kick-off season is seriously threatened by a single Russian player, Hellraiser’s Lostov.

Lostov started in Group B where already two Archon members were waiting: Jon “Orange” Westberg and Sebastian “Xixo” Bentert. Lostov ended up sparring with both, beating Orange 3-2 and Xixo 3-0 to advance as the shocking top seed in the group. Ahead, more challenge lay.

Another Archon member greeted him in the quarter finals, none other than captain Jason “Amaz” Chan. Once again, the Russian was ruthless, slaughtering the esteemed champion 3-0 and securing a spot in the winner’s bracket semis. The best part of it all? He’s slated to play the fourth and final Archon member currently in the tournament, world champion James “Firebat” Kostesich.

Lostov and Firebat will not spar until next week, but the Russian’s run is already a story worthy of the headlines. He has the opportunity to go undefeated against the premier team and if he does, he’ll be guaranteed a top three spot and at least $1,200 of prize money.
