Decklist spotlight: Hawkeye's legend midrange Shaman

Thrall hasn’t been seen in good light recently, the class being one of the worst pick- and win-rate wise. But certain players still manage to do wonders with it.

If you’re not familiar with Apostolos “Hawkeye” Karaiskos, you’ve probably missed several of the largest tournaments in Hearthstone. The Greek made the headlines in March as he finished second in the $60,000 EU vs. CN behind Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh. He followed it up with top 8 at DreamHack Summer after going undefeated in the swiss round and is currently competing in the Vulcun Deckmasters league.

So what makes this player special besides the fact he’s one of the rising stars of the game? The fact that he loves Shaman. He’s one of the very few players to bring the class to tournaments and, as you see, he’s been doing great with it.

But his list is not just fit for competitive play. Recently, Archon’s marquee Jon “Orange” Westberg took it to climb the ladder, reaching top 200 and climbing up from rank 2,000+.

The list itself is nothing special, really, featuring no BRM cards and only the finest cards from GvG. Another testimony that sometimes, new isn’t always better.
