The Filipino does it again, snatching his second GosuCup championship after his triumph at GosuCup #11.
Very few players have managed to win repeat GosuCup trophies in the circuit’s entire history. The first one to do so was Dustin “WaningMoon” Mangulabnan from the Philippines, who still holds the record for most GosuCup wins with three. The second one was Lan “Neilyo” Tran: Currently the points leader in the World’s SEA rankings, the Vietnamese ruled cups #4 and #7 and joined the multi-trophy club. Singaporean Aaron Koh was added the very next cup, although his triumphs were split between the 2014 and 2015 seasons of the tournament.
Yesterday, the club welcomed another member. Alvin “adiK” Cambaya ruled GosuCup #13 with an iron fist, 3-1'ing Vietnam’s Nguyen “Charge” Thanh. Charge’s defeat wrapped up Adik’s monstrous win streak against Vietnam players as the Filipino was ruthless in his advance to the trophy.
Adik thus wins his second pair of $300 and 20 World Championship points, looking forward to catching up with the other leaders of SEA in the World Rankings.
