Another charity tournament coming this weekend

Mark your the days between this coming Friday and Sunday as Kinguin have lined-up another 16-man invitational tournament. With virtually every major event champion invited, the line-up is stacked to bursting.

Last year, Kinguin made a splash on the Hearthstone scene, organizing one of the first post-GvG tournaments. With the revamped power of Paladin and the new-school aggro Mage, it was Cong "StrifeCro" Shu who ran away with the title and the $2,500, part of which he ended up donating for charity.

This weekend, King Cong returns to defend his title but this might be even harder than in the first event. A lot of high-profile names like Amaz, Neirea, Kolento, Gaara, Savjz and Firebat will be making a repeat appearance and the new names Kinguin have called for are equally as intimidating. Among them are heavy hitters like Dog, Lifecoach, Ek0p, Kaldi and ThijsNL.

Additionally, throughout the entire event, viewers can choose to donate to Child's Play foundation. Players who choose to spare some part of their winnings will also help said foundation to raise funds.

Kinguin Winter will be one of the events that aims to bring competitive Hearthstone out of its holiday slumber. With the scene on a break since the end of December bar the ESL Legendary Series playdays, only now are we starting to see tournaments popping up. Today, the first day of HearthStats' Challenger League is being played, aiming to trim down the 40 players down to 24. On January 21st, people will be tuning for the Inven Invitational to watch Savjz, Kolento, Reynad and RenieHour. Right after Kinguin Winter, the second edition of the Pinnacle will happen (Jan 29-30), followed by the first LAN event of the year, Assembly Winter on January 30th.
