Three new GvG deathrattle-based cards revealed

Three more Goblins vs Gnomes have been revealed, this time all three cards interact with deathrattles - two of which are set up to counter the currently powerful mechanic.

As the Goblins vs Gnomes expansion gets ever closer the card reveals show no sign of slowing down, as Blizzard continue to reveal cards through Twitter votes and through a series of articles exploring themes in the expansion.

Blizzard have been very clear that their strategy for dealing with powerful decks in the meta is no longer to nerf powerful cards - instead, they plan to release new cards to directly counter those decks which could be considered overpowered. We saw this in Naxxramas with Loatheb, a card which is now integral to the overwhelming majority of decks, and today they have released two cards to counter the powerful Undertaker deathrattle based decks.

The first of the two counters is Lil' Exorcist, a 2/3 for three mana that grows by +1/+1 for each enemy deathrattle minion on the board and has taunt, making it the perfect turn three play for those times when your Hunter opponent has just thrown Undertaker, Coin, Leper Gnome, Loot Hoarder at you. This card clearly has a lot of potential to counter those decks, though I would worry that it is very likely your opponent will be able to use some of those smaller deathrattle minions to trade with this card quickly - though soaking up that damage makes this minion a really useful inclusion.

The second counter is a Paladin class card that is good value as a 4/3 for three mana that also deals two damage to every minion with deathrattle. Against a deathrattle heavy deck this can easily become a Consecrate with a 4/3 body attached for one less mana - though this is ALL deathrattle minions, so decks running this will have to be careful in playing their own.

However, it's not all doom and gloom for the deathrattlers - Hunter gets a new epic spell that interacts with deathrattle in Feign Death. For two mana, this card will trigger all your minions deathrattles without the pesky drawback of having to have your minions die. This becomes incredibly powerful with cards like Nereubian Egg, and theory crafters are already salivating at the Baron Rivendare pairing with this card.
