GvG: New Shaman and Mage cards revealed

Shamans and Mages get cool new early game mechs to smack away with windfury or freeze down enemy forces.

Since Goblins vs Gnomes was first announced at Blizzcon, Shaman has been one of the classes with the least amount of cards shown, alongside Warlock, Rogue and Hunter, all with just one. Today, followers of Thrall get a glimpse of a new 2-drop Mech they'll get next month: the [card]Whirling Zap-o-matic[/card].

The Zap-o-matic is a simple minion: it's a 3/2 for 2 mana which comes with Windfury. While it might not seem like the biggest of threats even compared to its other 2-mana cousins like [card]Knife Juggler[/card] or [card]Mad Scientist[/card], this small mech is a minion that opponents will have to address. The potential for 6 damage on the next turn (likely to be split between face and an enemy minion) is worrisome enough and that's before one accounts for any potential [card]Rockbiter Weapon[/card] upgrades. 18 damage on T3 or even T2 with the coin is nothing to laugh at.

With [card]Unstable Portal[/card], [card]Flamecannon[/card] and [card]Goblin Blastmage[/card] already shown, Mages had enough new cards to look at but they get another one nonetheless. Similar to the Zap-o-matic, the [card]Snowchugger[/card] is a 2-drop with a the cool effect of freezing any character it damages.

Thus, the Snowchugger is essentially a mini [card]Water Elemental[/card] and a card that will be incorporated in aggressive and mid-range builds to shine against weapon wielders like Warriors, Paladins and Rogues.
