ThijsNL takes ninth straight victory in King of the Hill (decklists inside)

ThijsNL continues his mad streak in IHearthU's King of the Hill, blanking vVv's Kaldi for a record ninth win.

Refusing to surrender his throne to the string of challengers, Thijs has already broken all showmatch records. The Dutchman and MYM ace has already put eight straight wins behind him and today he had to fight vVv’s Kaldi who came to avenge team-mate Spo for his defeat in episode #24.

To say the series started on the wrong foot for Kaldi would be an understatement. In under twenty minutes, the vVv player saw both his Shaman and Druid decompose under the heavy pressure of Thijs’ aggro Rogue. The fervor of Rogue’s army looked irresistible and Kaldi was in deep trouble.

What made it all the more difficult for the Icelander is that he was now forced into heavily unfavorable match-ups. All Kaldi was left with was a Handlock and Miracle Rogue – draw-intensive builds both – notable for having a rough time against the so called “Backspace Rogue” with all its Mukla and Coldlight Oracle gimmicks.

As expected, the Handlock couldn’t hold its ground for much long. Early pressure by Thijs put Kaldi in the single digits very fast but not even free Molten Giants could help the vVv representative as Saps easily cleared the way for the final points of damage. The Miracle Rogue didn’t have it any easier and Kaldi was staring at some serious damage as early as T4.

By T5, Thijs had chewed through half of Kaldi’s hit points and was holding a Leeroy and Shadowstep in hand and the viewers on Twitch all knew the Icelander had just a few seconds of life left. Despite having Gadgetzan and Edwin van Cleef in Hand, Kaldi just didn’t have enough time to down Thijs from 23 points of damage. Double Leeroy came out and the Dutchman took his ninth win in a row.
