Digital Life: Moon, GLaiVe and a bunch of Americans

[s]event[/s]

Digital Life - Moon's shot in taking his first individual tournament win this year? Or will Shortround or FoV walk in to the event and take the check for 5,000$? Digital Life is hosted in New York City, and so far only seven players are attending.

The Digital Life tournament hosted by GGL starts today. Boasting with $12,500 prize money for WarCraft III and having Moon and the top American players qualified, it still feeks a bit meek. The event will not only be a place for the game tournaments, it is a festival in technology. Showing the latest cellphones, being able to play Final Fantasy XII and much more. Located at the Javits Center in New York City, it is quite logical that the majority of players are from the United States.

United States Nilknarf (Invite)
United States Boo (Invite)
Korea Moon (Qual.)
United States Sonkie (Qual.)
United States LongWalk (Qual.)
United States TechnoBoy (Qual.)
Sweden GLaiVe (Qual.)
Five players have qualified for the tournament, while two others have been invited. Nilknarf and Boo are the invited ones, the rest played an online qualifier. Even with a star-filled tournament with names as Susiria, DIDI8, Rotterdam and FoV, the Americans prevailed. Only two non-Americans qualified. Those are: GLaiVe; ending second place in WCG Sweden and one of verGe's strongest players, and Moon; previously known as the best WarCraft 3 player from Korea, but has been down in a slump and has not yet won any individual title this year. Without the former champion Grubby qualified, will the 5,000$ check be easily grabbed?

Prize distribution

1. 5,000$ (+ Alienware m5750 Laptop)
2. 3,500$
3. 2,500$
4. 1,000$
5. 500$

But these players will not be the only ones taking part. Starting today, mini-tournaments will be held on spot where eight spots for the tournament will be fought for. Rumours say that last year's World Cyber Games silver medalist Shortround will show up. The Korean 4Kings star FoV who was eliminated in the second round in the qualifier is also rumoured to show up and fight over one of the eight walk-in spots.
