China strikes again

After a tricky weekend where almost all SC-related sites have made their April fools jokes, it is good to know that some of the facts were for real. One of them is the 8th MgZ tournament valid for the 4th season, where the winner takes a spot for the final tournament - and then the chance to fight for the prize of $100.

This time the tournament has started 20hs CET so that other players could participate. That seems to have worked well, since two Chinese players - mYm.Pj and puLs.wpm - have been on it. The points system for the 32 players event was: winner: 150 pts, Runner up: 116 pts, Semi finals: 92 pts, Quarter finals: 65 pts, 2nd Round: 42 pts and 1st Round: 0 pts.

After the four rounds two players have got into finals, Pj and iG.StarClan.

As you can see, although being the favourite Pj had some troubles to achieve the final bracket.

iG.StarClan path to finals:

Also not an easy way to StarClan once he faced 3 Polish players, two from the roster of Poland B and the known player puLs.Drone.

In the final match, Pj has striked out StarClan by the flawless score of 3-0, and assured himself a spot in the final event. Although StarClan being the runner-up, he is currently the top player in rank, which almost give him also a ticket to the final tournament.

Bonus event

Last thursday a bonus event was held. The winner was the russian player
3D.Demich, who beated in the final bracket p3G.Masta. With this victory Demich assured also a spot for the main event.
