As a preseason surprise, Riot has revealed the latest League of Legends champion: Rell. Rell’s announcement arrived early on Monday morning, with just a tweet revealing her to the world. Thankfully, Riot also put out Rell’s ability kit so we know exactly what she’s going to do.
Based on her kit, it seems that Rell is intended to be a very tanky support character. She has a magical suit of heavy armor — which can turn into her trusty steed — and a giant magical lance that will steal the armor and magic resist from whoever she’s attacking. Rell can also attach some of her magical armor to a teammate, giving them bonus armor and magic resist while she’s nearby. Meanwhile, her Ultimate ability can pull her enemies into her, trapping them in a gravitational field.
