DDoS attacks damage FACE IT qualifiers

Last night both semi final matches at FACE IT League 2015 Qualifiers were put on halt due to DDoS attacks.

Last night saw one of the worse sides of the CS:GO community where the minority managed to ruin the nice atmosphere surrounding the FACE IT League 2015 Qualifiers. Both semi final duels were paused and continued later off stream.

LGB eSports and No Problem! were playing the first match of the day where the Norwegian players suddenly started losing packets and experiencing increase in ping. As usual, the match had to be paused and resumed later on. Later, one of the LGB eSports players, Morten 'zeves' Vollan, raised his voice on his Facebook channel regarding this matter, stating that he finds it very suspicious that his team-mate RUBINO was constantly under the fire of DDoSer even when the match was not being broadcast on stream.

At this very moment I have been in an intense argument with the faceit admins and Berry. We tried to make them understand that with rains ping at 130 stable, ensa's 50 loss the whole game and rubino getting ddosed every single round is just not fair.

People need to know that this is a very important match, probably one of the biggest ones this year for us. Faceit League is a huge achievement for us, and it gives us the chance to show our potensial. But when Berry and co does not want to give us a chance to play a more fair game, with atleast some levels of evenness this is going to be hard.

I tried to make the admins aware of the issue before and at the score 6-13. However, the admins stated that this is our problem and internet connection is our responsibility. This I am totally agree with, but I tried calmly to talk with Berry on skype and gla1ve on steam. They were hold on to continue where the match left us (6-13) - Wonder why? I even showed ensa's picture of 50 loss and everyone could see rains 130ms the whole game. But they were still not showing any fairplay at all. I know people would say that we would have done the same, but this is not the fact right now. And the few people that knows me in real life would state that I am a player of fairplay.

Then we just tryed to ignore the problem once again as we have done the whole match, and forced bought at 13-6 after 30 min of discussion with admins and Berry. Rubinos internet had been fine for more then 10 minutes and we hoped that the ddoser had stopped. And then it began again, 15 seconds into the round he timed out. Need to state that during the whole match Rubino was not online for more then 1 minute at the time so when he was online for more then 10 minutes we thought it had stopped.

I find it a bit suspicious that the streamer knew the exact time we went live again, even when Faceit stopped the stream, gotv and scorebots he still got ddosed at the exact time we went live in the match again. I call it very suspicious, also taking under the circumstance that daT teams "WorldEdit" also got ddosed yesterday against the danes. It is not like I can find or show any proof of this, that NP! acutally ddosed us, but all I can say is that i find it highly suspicious.

But after this happened and the score showed 6-14 we paused and mentioned basicly everything I am telling you guys to this very moment. Now the admins are taking a new decision and discussing it internally. I hope that the admins will look into this in a more serious matter then they did before.

I acutally didnt think that someone like these danes wanted to win on a more discusting and unfair matter, but I guess i was wrong.

One can hope that Zeves' accusations are groundless and that there's more sportsmanship in the competitive CS:GO community that his post suggests. Otherwise, this might be another bit of bad image for the scene, which was plagued by matchfixing scandals and player bans last year.

LGB eSports and No Problem! finished their match last night with the Norwegian team eventually coming on the top and they are now the 7th team in the European division of FACE IT League 2015. Natus Vincere and Gplay have still to finish their match and determine the last participant of this division.
